Finishing Solid Wood Furniture

Using fragrant oil and wax finishes gives wooden furniture a micro-porous, silky surface which feels good to touch and has an antistatic effect. The wood is protected against wear, while retaining its capacity to "breathe". Solid wood furniture and Auro fit hand in glove.

Protecting Timber Buildings from Wind and Weather

Windows, doors and claddings are treated with plant oil primer and colourful wood stain to give a water repellent, weather proof and UV resistant finish. Wood preservation, based on borax, protects timber from fungus and insect damage.

Gloss Finish for Inside and Out

For an opaque finish on wood and metal you can use natural resin gloss paint which has excellent adhesion and weather resistance. Colours can be mixed together to create individual colour schemes.

Treating Floors

To enhance the high quality of natural flooring materials, use microporous oil/wax finishes. They will give the floor a satin finish while retaining the "breathability" of the floor and thus contributing to a healthy and pleasant indoor environment which is easy to clean and maintain.

Allowing Walls To Breathe

The excellent coating characteristics of our natural wall paints have convinced many users of the advantages of AURO organic paints. In combination with micro-porous building materials they contribute significantly to a fresh and comfortable interior environment. Most requirements for colour and design can be met by mixing combinations of the standard range and colour concentrates.

Designing with Plant Colour Washes

Plant colour washes are becoming more and more popular for decorative wall designs. Techniques such as rolling, stippling etc. can create subtle and distinctive effects which are never loud but always appear light and harmonious.

Adhesive for Natural floor finishes

Natural flooring, whether cork, tile, linoleum or carpet is best teamed with an adhesive made of pure plant binders. The AURO universal adhesive not only has high bonding strength but is easy to apply and has an agreeable smell.

Enchancing the life of Surface Finishes

The beauty and serviceability of oiled and waxed surfaces can be maintained by treatment with a range of AURO cleaning and care products. Blemishes are easily touched in. Dulled wax coatings can easily be revitalized and repolished.

Basic uses

Wax systems

Liquid balsam, thinnable with water, made from beeswax and plant wax suitable for internal use. Provides a water repellent finish which is suitable for use on most woods, can also be used on linoleum. It is particularly suitable for finishing furniture.

Special Qualities:

Waxed surfaces enhance the room climate due to the essential oils and its ability to 'breathe'. Easy to maintain, dirt resistant and antistatic.

Stain System

Weather resistant protection on wooden surfaces, such as windows, doors, cladding, sheds, garden furniture, but not floors. No toxic emissions from biocides, metals or petrochemical solvents (in common with all AURO products). Water thinnable, solvent free stain suitable for both internal and external use which does not trap moisture but allows timber to breathe.

Waterbased Gloss and Eggshell Paints

On wood, metal, plaster and masonry. Exterior gloss system expected to last 3 to 5 years when properly applied on sound surfaces in normal conditions.

Cots & Toys: these finishes are tested for safety on toys as DIN EN 71 part 3; tested for reaction to saliva and sweat DIN 53160.

Wallpaints

We currently offer four natural wall paints, all of which have excellent micro-porous characteristics and containing no fungicides or chemical preservatives, contribute significantly to a fresh and comfortable interior environment and make them highly suitable for breathing wall construction.
